The TrojanAdvance program was first conceived as the LOOC program was initiated in the Summer of 2013 as part of VSU’s commitment to exploring ways in which the University could impact in a positive manner the cost of education for our students. The TrojanAdvance program maintains our commitment to providing a cost effective learning experience during the summer, while noting a University commitment to students moving forward in their studies.
In the initial term, four general education courses were offered, which enrolled over 330 Virginia State University students. Since this initial offering, the program has expanded in the number of courses offered, the terms in which they are offered and the number of students enrolled. The program is now open to entering freshmen and Transfer students, as well as both VSU students and those from other institutions.
